I have been visiting Padstow for many years and staying at St Edmunds, the decor is smart and clean although showing its age in some area. The Bed is one of the most comfortable l have bet experienced on holiday, firm but very comfortable. The bathroom and shower are tops but l would ask that the sink taps although high design be made easier to use, they can be difficult to use with water everywhere. Staying at St Edmunds has the advantage of being able to breakfast at Seafood Restaurant a short walk plus dine and enjoy St Petroc’s Restaurant and the Cafe. All quality plus a short walk takes you to the centre of Padstow. There is parking available for guest St Edmunds which a plus and a lovely garden to enjoy.

We stayed at the Seafood restaurant/hotel in January 2022. We got lucky with the weather which always helps. We checked in as instructed which was painless. The car park entrance is a little narrow but you have a guaranteed parking space. Our room was warm clean and very nice. The bathroom had some issues which we reported at check out. Seagulls are noisy but hey, it’s the seaside! The fish and chip restaurant is fine but not outstanding. Breakfast was very nice, I can recommend the omelette! My wife had eggs Benedict which wasn’t quite up to standard, considering where we were eating. The evening meal was excellent. Great atmosphere and fabulous food. A special mention for the staff, all were excellent. Friendly and helpful even when clearly busy. It is a little over priced but no one forced us to stay and we had a fantastic experience. Based on our visit we would recommend without hesitation. One word of caution which may help other visitors. The walk from the rooms to the restaurant is down a steep hill. It isn’t far, only a minute but in the wet or heels, could be exciting! Nothing the hotel has any control over but worth a mention. Thank you to the staff for making our visit a very pleasant trip.

Beautifully appointed rooms by Jill Stein for a family holiday in Padstow, also with a handy private parking space. I'd advise to prearrange dinners, St. Petroc Bistro was amazing, although all or Rick's restaurants and cafes we visited had great service and delicious recipes, plus the quality and taste of the seafood is absolutely second to none (I really mean it!). Different shops around the harbour are delightful, filled with gooey Cornish fudge, Cornish pastries, Cornish gifts, Cornish tea and scones and everything else Cornish that you could imagine is just a stroll away from St Edmund's House. There is also a walk from the harbour up the coast hills to burn it all off , just in time for dinner. I didn't even mention the breakfast, of course it was top notch, what do you expect, it's Rick Stein!

I was taken to Rick Stein Padstow as a birthday treat and it did not disappoint. We opted for the seafood sharing platter and enjoyed every morsel. Expensive at £120 for the platter, but who cares.

Our stay at St. Edmunds House was okay. We had trouble finding the place, and once we arrived, there was no lobby! another guest had to tell us that check-in was actually at the restaurant. The location was great and the room was clean, but the bed was a bit uncomfortable. Everything in the mini-fridge had an extra charge, and for the price, it felt a bit expensive for what we got. There’s also no elevator, so we had to carry all our bags ourselves.
